The Fisherman's wife

one Sunday afternoon i got a chance to visit the fishing Barangay in our town Balangiga, that is Brgy. 6.

here i met a woman working on some twigs and chunks of wood chopping them to be used as fire wood later.
she all did this after washing all the laundry and drying them and also fetched some water to be used for cooking.

she finally talked and shared me bits of her life. she is a Fisherman's wife.

With all their children grown up now, the couple lives alone bu the sea shore away from their married children.

and time has come! her husband is now in sight from the seas to catch some fish for their consumption and she says...."if lucky enough, we can sell the others so we can buy rice.
a

she eagerly meets her husband by the shore.....

crossing her fingers and praying he have a good catch

and together they tow the bangka off to shore.

whallllla! we have some food for tonight!
